Product InformationWhy pay for additional phone lines? Put this switch on duty—and save a bundle. It'll route calls to 4 devices on 1 or 2 phone lines automatically! It works with both 1- and 2-line phones, and is compatible with DSL, Distinctive Ringing, phone-company voice mail, and Caller ID. Get max value from your existing phone line. It's a hassle to connect and disconnect your fax and modem every time you use them. Or to try to route incoming calls manually. But it's not very cost-efficient to have dedicated phone lines for both devices—especially when you're only using them intermittently. So, what do you do? Share the 1 or 2 lines you already have the easy way! Plug everything into ComSwitch 7500, and let it route your calls to the right device—automatically. This inexpensive line-sharing switch has ports for a 1- or 2-line input and 4 devices. Most folks connect a phone, answering machine, fax machine, and modem, but you can also share the line with other devices. Choose voice or data priority. ComSwitch operates in 2 different modes. Set it to AUTOMATIC and it answers every call on the first ring, ""listens"" for a fax or modem tone, then passes the call along to the phone and telephone answering device (TAD) ports if no tone is detected. This is ideal if you receive more data calls than voice calls. If you only have occasional data calls, you may prefer to set ComSwitch to SEMI-AUTOMATIC mode. Then each call rings through to the phone, answerer, and other extensions immediately. When you or your answering machine picks up, ComSwitch listens in for a fax or modem tone, and directs the call to the appropriate device if it detects one. Switch from phone to fax, mid-call! ComSwitch monitors the line, so you can switch from phone mode to fax mode while the call is in process, by pressing 3 buttons on your telephone dialpad. You might talk for a few minutes, then make the transfer to receive a document without disconnecting the call. When you're away from the phone you can have ComSwitch notify you when you receive a new voice message, fax document, or data transmission. It will call any number and send a special pulse/tone signal to alert you. What about your existing phone-company services? If you use Distinctive Ringing service, for example, don't worry. You can keep the second (and third) phone number you have for your single line. ComSwitch will route your calls according to the different ring patterns you've assigned for each device. You can also continue to use your phone-company voice mail—if you have it set up in conjunction with Distinctive Ringing service. And ComSwitch is fully compatible with Caller ID. It's also compatible with DSL service, if you add two 8 K inline microfilter phone filters to the line. With both a fax and modem connected, ComSwitch allows you to use your fax machine as a scanner. Push one button and it tells your fax machine to send images directly to the fax/modem in your PC. Reverse the process and you can use your fax machine as a printer. You don't have to load any software to use this feature—and it will work with virtually any communications program you have. This switch offers a lot for the price:
